Self‑braking rescue descender for 12.5–13 mm ropes
The Petzl I’D L is a self‑braking descender designed for rescue and technical rope work. It provides controlled descent and smooth movement along inclined or horizontal terrain while limiting the risk of user error with an anti‑panic function and anti‑error catch. The ergonomic handle lets you easily control descent speed and switch between two friction modes (side plate or V‑shaped friction channel). A safety gate and guide markings make it quick to install the rope while the device stays connected to the harness, and the AUTO‑LOCK system lets you lock the rope in place and position yourself without manipulating the handle. I’D L is compatible with ropes 12.5 – 13 mm in diameter and is durable for demanding use, with a stainless steel wear plate enhancing longevity. It can handle loads up to 150 kg for single users and up to 280 kg in rescue scenarios.
